Originally from India and Ceylon, it expanded its range to the Balkans, then to central Europe, expanding northward. The jackals were reported in Romania more than 50 years ago and are largely distributed throughout Dobrogea, the Danube River and in the meadows of the main rivers in the southern and southeastern plains of the country. However, it was also reported in the Subcarpathians and in the northern part of Romania.<\/p>\n
