The European hare
The European hare is present on the entire territory of Romania, with a maximum density in the plain area but also in the hills and is often hunted.
Despite the pressure exerted by predators on their species, the European hare still remains frequently hunted, found throughout the entire country, with a maximum density in the plain area. Since 1990, due to the diversification of environmental conditions, its herds are in progress or stationary. Only in certain lands cultivated with industrial plants or left in the field did the herds regress.
Hunting season: The European hare is considered the most common and most accessible to hunters throughout the hunting season (between November 1st and January 31st). You can hunt them in small game, in active haunting or with a dog.
Although there are many opportunities and hare hunting is becoming less sport-hunting, it still can be practiced in a way that remain interesting and attractive even for the most demanding hunters.
